Sheesh, have I really not updated this blog for 8 weeks?! Aside from sheer negligence, Dr. R. and I have been settling into our new nest which until yesterday has not had internet service. As I discovered, the iPhone is not good for blogging. Now that we are officially on the intertubes, I'll try to be better with the updates. That's not to say we don't have a minor mountain of other stuff to do, oh yes, in addition to preparing for the tiny new human who will soon rule our lives. April has been filled with business trips for Dr. R and I, preparing for updates to the new nest (which include replacing flooring, painting walls and changing light fixtures), sprucing up the yard surrounding the nest, boring adult stuff (taxes, life insurance, etc), and acquiring the infinite oodles of loot that will be needed for this tiny thing thing that is currently no more than 2 lbs and lives in my uterus. More on that last topic in future posts.
Anyway, here is a brief photo recap of the belly growth during the past few weeks:
21 weeks:

25 weeks (on location in Portland, OR):
These past few weeks have been pretty big for belly growth. I've stopped: 1) trying to squeeze into my regular pants and 2) caring that my belly button pops out like a beacon no matter how many layers I'm wearing. I also feel like I need to make a conscious effort not to waddle. I'll had current picture later this week.
At my last doctor visit baby was doing great and we're still on track for an end of July due date. Since its been a while here's my latest survey responses:
How far along: 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: ~20 pounds. I'm breaking ground, not just from walking around but in the numbers I've seen on the the scale category.
Maternity clothes: Had a minor meltdown over the weekend when I realized that none of my shorts or capris fit and the weather in Austin is entering the 'it's like a pleasant stroll on surface of the sun' season. Remedied the issue with a brief shopping spree this evening.
Stretch Marks: No, but being vigilant.
Sleep: Yes please, especially after investing in a fancy body pillow. Sure, it falls into the "if it's made for a pregnant woman the price is marked up 200%" category but it keeps the hips and mama happy.
Best moment this week: When Dr.R. asked me if the store had any prosthetic babies to hold while he tested out some gliders for the nursery.
Movement: Lots of it. Sometimes I'm sitting in a meeting at work and I wonder if anyone else just saw my belly jump.
Food cravings: Sugar. I'm back to my old ways of craving sweets. And seeing all of the new innovations in Easter candy at the grocery store isn't helping. I'm trying to stay strong and enjoy dried mango or frozen yogurt as a treat. OK fine, last night I had some Ben and Jerry's courtesy of Dr. R. I need my calcium!
Gender: Leaning towards girl. Yesterday Dr. R announced he thought it was a boy.
Labor signs: Thank goodness no, but having lots of dreams about labor.
Belly button in or out: Officially an outie.
What I miss: Having a cold beer on a hot day.
What I am looking forward to: Heading home to WA for my baby shower this weekend!
Weekly wisdom: When the feet feel tired, put them up!
